'The National' interview Kate Forrester

Posted in: Artists, Special projects

Kate Forrester was interviewed by ‘The National’, a Dubai based paper, about life in Abu Dhabi, her inspirations and her processes. She also talks about her latest project, a set of individually paper-cut letters of the alphabet. Journalist Helen McLaughlin gets a first hand look; “They’re quite enchanting. Look carefully within each letter and a figure, face or decorative detail will reveal itself. At first, you see a mermaid, for example, but look again and there’s a butterfly, a bell, a curly tailed squirrel and a sprinkling of tiny stars.”

Kate discusses how moving to the UAE has affected her work, as well as plans for a potential future project. This charming little article is well worth a read, especially if you are as big of a fan of Kate’s work as we are!
