We are very proud to introduce David Doyle's work.
Dave's illustrations are truly unique. He captures the atmosphere of the places he paints and often uses text to bring an extra dimension to his work, which is intriguing and often extremely humorous. His illustrations have a certain warmth and humility that draws you into the image / the scenes and the people and allows the work to be very diverse.
Dave studied at Bournemouth Arts Institute and went on to Bath Spa University to do a degree Illustration. During the course he enjoyed screen-printing, reportage work and cartoons, and after his BA he completed an MA in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art .This is an area of illustration he has yet to explore professionally.

Pop Art is one of Dave's most consistent inspirations. Peter Blake, Warhol, Rauschenberg, Rosenquist and Ardizzone - he is interested by the everyday objects and American culture that many pop artists focused on. He is also greatly inspired by Chris Ware, and other graphic novel artists. Children's book illustrators such as Quentin Blake, Alexis Deacon and Raymond Briggs "all utilise more traditional techniques such as paint, pen and ink as I do" .
