Sarah Gibb

Sarah Gibb's illustration encompasses style, sophistication, glamour and humour effortlessly, and whilst being a master of collaboration in these areas, she also is extremely competent in these as single concepts too as she has incredible diversity. Although her style is unmistakable, Sarah is constantly looking at new ways of working using a variety of medium such as pen and ink, collage watercolour and digital imagery. Sarah has become a leading illustrator in the UK and her infamous book jackets have paved the way, for what we all now take for granted, as the classic 'Chicklet' novel although no one can do it quite like Sarah

Sarah's exquisite execution of Women of all walks of life is aided by many things including her love for fashion/beauty and a healthy social life. As well as incorporating current fashion trends into her illustration Sarah also has a love for interior design, which also gives her illustration the appeal that has made her so successful for so long.

Sarah studied a Foundation Course at Ravensbourne College of Art and a BA at Central St.Martin's. Sarah went on to do an MA at Brighton with the influential Designer/Illustrator George Hardie as her tutor, graduating in 1996.

Sarah joined The Artworks in 2000. Her first big break The Nanny Diaries, by Penguin books gave her the freedom to create something that really has her signature. Following that, came a series of eight covers for the Sue Townsend Adrian Mole series. She still illustrates for Sue Townsend to this day, along with a whole host of other authors.

Another big project for Sarah was with Harrods, she was asked to create a set of characters with different personalities like David Beckham or Kylie Minogue wearing green Harrods jackets. This was a huge success, and one of the drawings was awarded Silver in the Design Section of the Association of Illustrators Awards. She also created the concepts for the Harrods Christmas windows in and the images were used on a range of in-store merchandising, including mugs, chocolates, cookie tins and even three dimensional Santas as snow globes and Christmas decorations. Sarah has also worked extensively with Crabtree and Evelyn.

Sarah is also very famous for the cards she does with Art Angels. They are sold all over the country and are ever topical, fashionable and humorous, a range she still works on to date. There a few alternatives that capture people in the way Sarah does, as like them, she isn't afraid to laugh at herself!
Sarah has worked on a number of Children's books and is also responsible for the storming success 'Tiara Club', illustrations that can be seen worldwide in Children's bookstores.
