| A graduate of the Odessa
Art College and the Repin Insitute of Painting, Sculpture
and Architecture in St.Petersburg, Anatoly graduated
in 1969 with distinction.. The subject of his diploma work was illustrations
to Alexander Pushkin’s tragedy Boris Godunov,
which were later acquired by the All-Union Pushkin Museum.
From 1970-74 he taught drawing and composition at the Repin Institute and has since 1972 been a member of the Union of Russian Artists. Parallel with his illustration work, Anatoly continues to accept commissions
for portraits, where his skilled draughtsmanship and ability to capture
character is well utilised. Working in a variety of mediums, oil-paintings,
drawing, watercolours and pastels, he was elected a member of the National
Association of Portrait Artists of Great Britain in 2001. He
has had several one man shows, with the most recent being at the Roy
Miles Gallery and the Russian Embassy. His work
is held in many museums and art galleries in Russia and abroad. |
