Salvatore Rubbino

Salvatore Rubbino a recent graduate from the Royal College of Art, has developed a
flair for narrative picture-making as well as the ability to produce striking single images for magazine and book covers.

Drawing and observation underpins his working method and helps to achieve a
well-informed response to a brief. He is inspired by the variety of the city
life and the 'everyday' events that we take for granted that are in fact extraordinary and shape our lives.

'Making a picture; he says 'slows the pace of things down and helps to draw attention to the overlooked'.Salvatore Rubbino relates to his world by drawing and painting what he sees
around him.

Through this approach he is able to inject a sense of a lived experience and vibrancy in his work. His clients have included: The London
Symphony Orchestra, the Design Council, Sunday Telegraph, Penguin Books
and The Guardian.
In early 2005 Salvatore was short-listed for the Victoria and Albert Museum Illustration Awards for a series of paintings set in New York. This series has also been transformed into a picture book, 'A walk in New York', spiced with wit and charm it charts the adventure of a walk through the Big Apple.
