Kate Forrester was approached by Marks & Spencer to create a keepsake festive tin for this coming Christmas! Wanting a beautifully designed biscuit tin that could double as an innovative object tin itself, Kate’s Gingerbread house can also be used as a wind-up music box to play a festive tune while you snack!
Following on from their previous biscuit tin collaboration (the previous one was also a stunning light box), Kate worked with AD Amy Hepton to create an instantly recognisable gingerbread house, incorporating embossing and debasing into the design;
“The challenge, – but also the most gratifying part of this project – was working out the 3 dimensional form the final illustration would take i.e. which bits would sit flat and how to make the embossed finish work really well for this final product.”
We’ll certainly be heading down to Marks to pick up a few for the office, as well as giving them as excellent illustrated Christmas gifts, “the response to this project has been really positive and lovely – all my friends and family have been buying them!”
