Award-winning Korean Canadian illustrator Sunnu Rebecca Choi is the latest member of The Artworks family. With her instantly recognisable style, astute use of colour and a wealth of experience, Rebecca’s work sings brightly across editorial, non-fiction and picture books.
We caught up with Rebecca to find out a little more about her and her process:
Where are you based?
I’m a Korean Canadian based in London, currently working from my art studio in Brixton.
What do you take inspiration from?
I take inspiration from my experiences, people, emotions, and everything that shapes our life, from history, culture and society.
What tools do you use to create your artworks?
I use traditional printmaking techniques such as etching, monoprints, relief and collagraph or analog mediums such as acrylic and watercolour or combining them with digital drawings.
If you could own any piece of art in the world, which would it be?
David Hockney and Paula Rego’s original etching prints!
