Congratulations to all the shortlisted and award winners of the World Illustration Awards! The Artworks attended the opening of the show and the prize giving. It was wonderful to see so many inspiring projects by a huge range of different artists. Last year we celebrated Andrew Davidson being shortlisted by the AOI for his Harry Potter illustrations, and Laurindo Feliciano winning a prize for his editorial work. It was great to see Jessica Bromley Bartram’s work, which won the best in show for New Talent. Her book Sargasso -a story about a man who falls in love with the ghost of a drowned woman is beautifully illustrated but also haunting. It was inspiring to hear the speeches given by the AOI about all the developments and possibilities open to illustrators. The exhibition is held at Somerset House, and is open to the public for free for all of October.
