Artworks helps select the SAA New Talent in Illustration Associate Prize at New Designers 2018

The Artworks illustration agent, Alex Hadlow was invited to be part of the small-but-select panel of judges to decide the award for SAA New Talent in Illustration Associate Prize at the prestigious New Designers Awards, taking place at London’s Business Design Centre this week.

There was some amazing work exhibited by recent graduates from courses and universities all over the country. The level of work was highly impressive and choosing one illustrator to receive the award was quite a challenge for the judges but Manchester School of Art graduate, Ella Rose Brown’s work really stood out.

Her vibrant use of colour immediately draws you in; inspired by fashion and textiles, she creates beautiful work with an emphasis on detail and a love for culture. Ella was passionate, well-presented and very determined. Her portfolio was vast and, although varied, it was consistently strong and all the judges felt that Ella would greatly benefit from the prize and the chance to receive 6 months mentoring from one of the SAAs agencies.
