Lindsey Spinks was commissioned to illustrate the ancient wonders of the world in the fascinating new title from Lonely Planet Kids, Then & Now.

Looking at 12 of history’s most famous civilizations through their palaces, temples and buildings, the illustrations show what the ancient wonders look like today compared to how they looked thousands of years ago. Illustrated gatefolds and flaps reveal how these wonders were built and their role in ancient society. Lindsey loved creating detailed drawings of the incredible ancient architecture whilst learning more about these fascinating places. She collected photos and sketches for each page and made rough sketches, bringing all of these elements together which allowed her to observe the overall feel of each page and feed in as much detail and information as possible to the drawings.

Then & Now is written by Stuart Hill and is published by Lonely Planet Kids.
