Daniela Terrazzini illustrates the new novel by Ben Miller, The Night I Met Father Christmas

We asked Daniela Terrazzini for a few words about her recent commission to illustrate the new novel by Ben Miller, The Night I Met Father Christmas. 

“I was initially sent the text and asked to illustrate how I imagined some of the characters to look …Ben Miller was after something quite specific, but would only know exactly what when he found it! Ultimately he wanted the characters to look magical but natural at the same time. He also wanted the humour within them to be subtle, carried mainly by the text. Luckily, that was exactly what I was thinking and I was incredibly excited to be chosen to work on the project. Creating the illustrations was such a joy, I loved the story…it really spoke to my imagination and I hope this is carried through in my work”
