Aurelia Lange creates the album artwork and music video for Landshapes new album "Contact".

Aurelia Lange has worked with artist Lydia CS to create the album artwork for “Contact” and music video for the accompanying single “The Ring” for the band Landshapes, out now via Bella Union.

Using the title as a starting point, Aurelia and Lydia used “The Ring” as a symbol representing multiple viewpoints;

“The ring motif therefore becomes a vessel where different ways of seeing and feeling are shared, mirroring the ‘you and I’ in the lyrics.”

The two artists created hand painted stop-motion sequences, sharing them back and forth to one another, interpreting the other’s work, responding and then sharing; a practical extension of the idea behind the video.

The album artwork carries forward the practical application of concept as well; the image explores shapes and compositions of people embracing, contacting one another. The “contact” also alludes to the physical components of printmaking used to create the artwork, with the final image being made with mono-printing.
