Katie Bird

Katie Bird is a midlands based graphic illustrator, combining photo transfer, printmaking and digital collage to create a unique visual language. She draws inspiration from feminist literature as well as films and current affairs, focusing on  finding unique ways to convey meanings.

A graduate of Birmingham City University with a BA in Illustration, and with a background in photography and an adoration for visual communication, Bird brings a fresh look to editorial illustrations and publishing. Her style plays on the imperfect nature of gelli printing, utilising the overlooked technique, collaged with found textures and sketches to create something young and bold.
