Dàlia was commissioned by Alma Editorial – a Spanish publisher – to work on an illustrated collection of Jane Austen’s classic books Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion and Emma.
Alma gave Dàlia creative freedom for her reinvention of these classic books – the only limitation was the colour scheme, Dàlia had to use black, white and one colour of her choice, per book.
The first step in Dàlia’s creative process involved researching around the subject matter – reading Sense and Sensibility, watching Jane Austin movies and investigating old publications. She then worked on her sketches by hand before finalising the illustrations by adding texture and colour digitally.
