Amy Grimes has illustrated the new Christmas collection of Natural Extracts; Tescos hand & body care range, creating beautiful botanical patterns that represent the flavours and ingredients in the products.

Commissioned by the design agency Cowan, Amy was asked to work within a painterly style, making sure that any flowers, fruits or distinctive features of the ingredients were clearly recognisable. Striking the right balance between realism and stylising her images was key;

“…There was also some back and forth about making sure that certain flowers were dominant enough within each pattern – for the Lavender and Geranium pattern the final design ended up being much more lavender heavy than the original rough sketch.”

The results are vibrant interweaving patterns featuring bold colours, playing to Amy’s strength in illustrating botanicals and floral motifs in her fluid style.
