Andrew Davidson
Andrew Davidson works from a dream location at the bottom of his garden, a tranquil place from which he has built his extremely successful career. He studied Graphic Design at Norwich School of Art and then at The Royal College.
Andrew is known for his craftsmanship using traditional engraving printing methods. The results cannot be replicated in any other technology and makes his work ever popular with an enviable diversity of commissions. Andrew also paints traditionally using gouache and prints block colour illustration using wood blocks. Andrew effortlessly applies the disciplines of objective drawing but with his ever-strong sense of design. He sees himself as much of a designer as an illustrator.
Andrew’s beautiful illustrations are often “solving” design problems and he is just as comfortable with the conceptual as he is with the literal, which is evident in the many logos he has done. He enjoys many trips to London to meet with his clients face to face.
He has worked with the likes of: HarperCollins, Transworld, Faber and Faber, Random House, Penguin Books, Oxford University Press, Shell, BP, Rolex, All England Lawn Tennis Association, Amtrak, Railtrack, Cunard, Mitchell and Butler, Shepherd Neame, Highland Distillers, National Museums of Scotland, HRH Prince of Wales Duchy Originals, Sebden Steel, Britannia Maritime Insurance
