Katie Ponder is a London-based illustrator who graduated from Falmouth University in 2014. Katie’s work is developed digitally but to create a hand made quality she applies different textures from printing, collage and media experiments to create a rich and tactile look to her work.
Katie draws inspiration from regular visits to the ballet and opera, exploring the greenhouses in Kew Gardens, ghost stories and her love of reading.
Recent achievements include winning the ‘AOI Book Award for New Talent’; runner-up and shortlisted for the ‘Folio Society Book Illustration Competition’; winner of the ‘House of Illustration People’s Choice Award’; and winner of the ‘Glyndebourne Tour Art Competition’.
Her clients include VAROOM, Glyndebourne, The Lyric Theatre, Now Then Magazine, Amelia’s Magazine, Firewords, SOFFA, Communication Arts and DPI Magazine. Her work has been exhibited at Somerset House and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
