Heather Gatley illustrated a delicious looking seafood medley for Sainsbury's Magazine.

For the last year Heather Gatley has been illustrating the Most Memorable Meal segment in Sainsbury’s magazine. Each month a different celebrity is asked to describe the most memorable meal they’ve ever had, with Heather then creating an illustrated food-themed frame fro the text.

This month’s offering was courtesy of diet and fitness queen Rosemary Conley, who in the article describes a decadent seafood feast. This lead Heather to change tact from her normal approach to illustrating this column;

“Often for this column I will illustrate a scene of where the meal happened, but this time I decided to focus solely on the seafood itself as the colours and shapes are so lovely to draw”

Wanting to keep things loose and fresh (like the best seafood), Heather made multiple drawings with pencils and paint, and then let the drawings determine the compositions in a more spontaneous way when she assembled them later in Photoshop.

The final result is a beautifully illustrated seafood medley, evoking lobster, oysters and a squeeze of lemon for brightness. Delicious!
