Laura Barrett’s illustrations for the 250th Anniversary of Independence

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, I was commissioned by William & Mary Alumni Magazine to illustrate the cover and feature,‘1776 Revisited’. The article discusses the history and context of the events leading to independence. William & Mary is the second oldest college in America, and a number of prominent figures and founding fathers had ties to the college at the time. Working with art director Michael Bartolotta, I created several full and half page illustrations. This was such a fascinating subject and time period to delve into!
